---- The Official Bio ----

Kyle Sexton is the founder of Fast Chamber, a business development firm specializing in membership organizations, co-founder of ChamberThink Strategies, a tiered membership dues consultancy, and director of member services for the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, he created what is now ChamberPeople.com, the largest online social network dedicated to chambers of commerce. Kyle was recognized as the 2007 Chamber Staff Person of the Year for the Western Association of Chamber Executives. He's the creator of the Chamber SalesEngine, an online membership sales module for chambers of commerce.

Kyle's innovations have been featured in The Wall Street Journal , Business On Main from MSN, and smSmallBiz.com from Smart Money. Kyle is the author of two books. Your Memberships Are Worthless (And 4 Other Challenges Facing Your Membership Organization will be released in late 2009, and Business Tips From Experts You've Never Heard Of publishes in early 2010.

---- The Whole Story ----

Since 2001, Kyle has been responsible for sales, service and retention, as well as marketing and business development. In his time with the Salem Area Chamber, he has rebuilt the Chamber’s website into a web portal, successfully transitioned their publications to in-house productions, converted the dues structure to value-based tiers, and increased membership revenue 40%.

Kyle is the 2007 Gerald W. Hathaway Memorial Staff Person of the Year. He is a highly rated speaker for the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) Academy and conventions of the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, a member of the WACE Academy Faculty and an Instructor for the United States Chamber of Commerce Institute of Organizational Management.

He serves on the ACCE Board of Directors, and the Membership Development Advisory Board as Immediate Past-Chair. A Lifetime Achievement Award recipient from the ACCE's Circle of Champions with over 1000 memberships sold, his roles have also included Vice Chair of Sales and Recognition Programs and Circle of Champions (Sales Division) chair.

He is the founder of FastChamber.com, developing franchise-quality membership development systems for chambers of commerce. His research and methods have been featured in industry publications, as well as national conventions and regional conferences. His innovative online membership sales module, Chamber SalesEngine™, has grown to account for up to $25,000 of annual new member sales in Salem.

In 2008, he created a small network where chambers of commerce could learn about online social networking while connecting to each other. In early 2009, it was re-introduced as ChamberPeople.com and is now connects more than 450 chambers across North America.

Additionally, he is the co-founder of ChamberThink Strategies, a consultancy focused on coaching chambers of commerce through their transition from a traditional dues method to a progressive tiered-investment model.

Kyle is currently working on two books. Business Tips From Experts You've Never Heard Of is a compilation of expert business advice from the professionals due out in early 2010. A second book is Kyle's manifesto speaking to necessary changes in the chamber of commerce industry to improve relevance and effectiveness. Your Memberships Are Worthless (And 4 Other Challenges Facing Your Membership Organization) will be released in late 2009.

He has been marketing and selling memberships since 1996. Prior to working for the Chamber, he was the Director of Marketing & Corporate Services for a chain of Gold’s Gym locations in Western Oregon. His work was honored with the 2001 Gold's Gym International Award for Outstanding Advertising from among 600 franchises worldwide.

Absolutely! We've talked at the past three ACCE events. I couldn't attend your session in Pittsburgh but you were kind enough to give me your handouts prior to it. You and I conversed via email last year when I sent you a copy of the letter I mailed to the VP of Philanthropy at Target after she was featured in Fortune magazine related to their "wonderful" record of giving...sigh. I never got a response to my letter.

FYI, my wife is from Oregon. She grew up in Dallas west of Salem. I've spent a lot of time out there and drove past your office in Eugene awhile back. I almost stopped but we were in a hurry to get somewhere. My stepdaughter and stepson live in Tualitin. We were out there over Thanksgiving.

You gave me info about Fast Chamber in Pittsburgh but I honestly didn't find the time to look it over until today. It's very good and I'll be encouraging some of my staff to join in as well.

Kyle: I'm techno-challenged. My photo will be sent to Fast Chamber when Christina Donegan, our VP-Comunciations, is back in the office next Monday.

Thanks for the link Kyle! Much appreciated! The "Greatest Drop Letter Ever" is very bold with nice sarcasm, which I definitely appreciate. My biggest pet peeve is people not giving me the courtesy of a response. I don't know how this tone is going to fly in the southern state of GA....but I'm willing to give it a shot!
