Valuable Congressional Recess Resource

Hi Chamber Friends:

As members of Congress are headed into a very busy month of town halls and other public forums, I wanted to share with you a great resource for contacting your elected officials with your thoughts on the important issues of health care reform, energy policy, and worksite union organizing efforts. Please take at look at http://recess.voteforbusiness.com/ and feel free to share this site with your members. Thanks!

Using social media to advance your government affairs agenda

I'm looking for innovative uses of social media to advance a chamber's legislative agenda. What's working for you...have any best practices you'd like to share? Thanks!

Renee, our local paper has a letter to the editor about card check. It allows comments....well here is the link http://www.kitsapsun.com/news/2008/dec/19/letter-to-the-editor-approve-the-employee-free/. I would love to have US Chamber of Commerce ammunition to use as a response. Having it be approved Chamber wording would be helpful for me politically. I have members on both sides of the issue.

Renee,

Thanks for the legislative updates. I can't find time to read every one in depth but I do appreciate you keeping me abreast of what is happening at the federal level.

Renee,

Thanks for bringing up that speaking gig in San Francisco. It sounds excellent. I will look into the budget to see if I can swing it.
